Sunrise Membership Committee - Growth
Sunshine upon Sunrise Makes The Garden Grow
Roy Kauer is heading up Membership along with "Coach" Bob Roach, and Christopher Stone. Although Federal Way Sunrise is not obsessed with membership, we do know that as we concentrate on service above self, others in our community will want to join in, and we are all for this. Our increased strengthens us and better helps us to serve the community of Federal Way and beyond.
RI President-elect Dong Kurn Lee called on every Rotary club to bring in at least one new member in 2008-09. During his term as Rotary International President, Lee will continue to stress the importance of recruiting younger Rotarians: “If we don’t bring in younger members, we’ll miss out on a great deal of energy and expertise. The strongest Rotary club is one that is diverse. It has members of different ages, both men and women. It has members of many different vocations and professions. It has members with different skills and talents.”
Byron Hiller is Committe Chair, serving with Vic Pennington, Kelli O’Donnell, Coach Roach, Christopher Stone
Drinking water for a mountain village in Ecuador has been the focus for the past year. This project has had a few bumps in the road, and although now slated for 2008, we are working in conjunction with World Vision to look at alternatives. Oh, how we take clean drinking water for granted.
Ted Werfelmann is committee chair, serving with Brain Ailinger, Brook Linquist, John Kurosky, Kevin Roche, Steve Scranton.
We are active in the community within many of us live and work. From Christmas Holiday shopping with special local students in a less fortunate family status, to projects at Terry Home for folks with brain injury, this Rotary group is willing to lend a hand reaching out to help in a variety of areas.
Public Relations is Letting Others Know They Too Can Serve
Pat Curran is Publich Relations chair, working with Kim Egge, Eugene Montgomery, and Steve Scranton.
We are committed to getting the word out. Rather than advertise, we serve by example, and then the words gets out about this or that. Newspaper coverage takes interest in the Rotary enthusiasm. Web coverage is confirmation that projects are being accomplished.
Team Leaders to Administer the Programs
Brian Ailinger takes over the administration role, working closely with current and past presidents. It's not the title, rather the talent and tenacity which gets the job done.
Rotary Foundation is headed by Ken Schiewetz with support from Jodi Riley Kauer and Connie Boyle.
The Foundation is integral to ongoing domestic and oversees project. How could a structure of over 1.2 million Rotarians worldwide exist without a firm foundation? We are able to provide support with Paul Harris Fellows.
